Therapy is a humanistic practice that operates in raw, emotional moments. I believe that each person has a unique story to tell -- a history that is filled with experiences and emotions that can be challenging to process and learn from.
The LGBTQ population, like humanity as a whole, struggles with grief and loss, depression, anxiety, and overall lapses in emotional wellness. However, being a part of a marginalized group exacerbates these issues, and presents a distinct collection of difficulties. Identifying myself as a part of this group has shaped my humanity through tribulations and pain; but I have also received compassion, words of wisdom, and love from members of my community — and I have gained strong allies in the process. Working with the LGBTQ population is my passion first, and my livelihood second. My sincere hope is that bringing a wealth of first-hand experience to our sessions will facilitate an empathetic, respectful, and hopeful working relationship.
